“Growing Older and Embracing It”
None of us are what we used to be, each year bring new challenges and new possibilities. Many say growing older is not for sissies but there are also many positive aspects of growing older.

We have more time – Time to do things they always wanted to try. It is a great time to take up favorite hobbies or start a new one. You will most likely still thoroughly enjoy learning new things.
We have more space – When children are grown and left home, there was suddenly extra room (maybe to turn into a hobby room). Even when down-sizing we often still have space for things that are loved and treasured.
We have fewer distractions – During our career, many did not have time to concentrate on anything but the essentials. Life was so fast paced once we retire we have to teach ourselves to slow down and enjoy the finer things in life.
We have self-acceptance – who cares if we have a few extra wrinkles or pounds and we should no longer feel the need to be perfect. It is a great time to own our imperfections as we really should not care what others think of us anymore.”
Remember this quote, “We old people know a lot more about being young than young people know about being old.” (Author Unknown).
Unfortunately, growing old is a privilege denied to many. With that, we would hope and wish, as we gain years, that we embrace the changes and choose to look at the positive things that come only with time and age.
