Charitable Living

Koning Charitable Fund

The Koning Charitable fund is designed to provide financial assistance to individual residents who have exhausted their personal resources. This fund is named for the founder of Ridgecrest Village, the late Reverend Dr. John W. Koning. The Koning Charitable Fund provides you with an opportunity to touch the lives of individuals, just as Rev. Koning did throughout his life. While many of our programs focus on improvements that will benefit our resident population as a whole, others help community aging adults such as the Quad City Alzheimer’s Association.

The Bus Fund

Fostering independence is a key objective at Ridgecrest Village, and few things contribute more to a feeling of independence than getting out-and-about to simply perform one’s own errands and for entertainment. Our Ridgecrest bus enables our residents to enjoy that feeling of independence. Your contribution to this fund helps ensure that we will continue to offer reliable, modern transportation for our residents and replace our older buses as needed.

Nursing Scholarship Fund

This scholarship fund was established by Ridgecrest Foundation in 2011 in support of those who are interested in furthering their education in the field of Geriatrics. The legacy of Dr. John W. Koning drives the vision of Ridgecrest Village, a vision focused on supporting our community and Ridgecrest Village, while caring for aging adults.

Ridgecrest Foundation Benefit Dinner

Through contributions from business sponsors, residents, staff, and the community; funds are raised to go a particular fund chosen by the Ridgecrest Foundation Board that year. This dinner allows the residents who attend a chance to dress up and enjoy an evening out with friends.

Please watch for the information of the next dinner. We would love to have you join us. Contact our Foundation Administrative Assistant, Margie Hansen, at 563-388-3592 for further details.
