Our Commitment to You During COVID-19
Ridgecrest Village is actively working to prevent the spread of COVID-19 while also preparing for possible cases. Much about the virus is still unknown, but we do know that the population we serve – older persons with underlying medical conditions – are at greater risk for the most serious forms of infection associated with this new disease.
The health and wellness of our residents and the care giving teams who support them is our number one priority. We are staying abreast of the latest information from the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). We are working with state and local public health and emergency preparedness officials to strengthen our preparation for a possible outbreak.
Ridgecrest Village is currently limiting visitors into the campus to combat the spread of the disease and protect the health and welfare of our residents. We encourage loved ones to communicate with our residents in ways, other than in-person visits, such as video chat, telephone, or social media. These precautions are vital to helping us avoid and minimize the possible spread of this virus.
We are also educating staff and residents on symptom awareness for COVID-19 and best practices for infection control and have clear protocols for staff to stay home and not come to work if they are ill or symptomatic.
As we navigate this challenge, we remain focused on providing exceptional care and services for our residents.

- GREG MADDUX ONLINE RAFFLE: The Ridgecrest Foundation and the Pizza Shack, owned and operated by Mark Bartling have teamed up to build some excitement during these times and raise funds for two nonprofits. Pizza Shack has donated an autographed Greg Maddux baseball for raffle AND 2nd place prize: pizza for a year from Pizza Shack (1/week, restrictions may apply). 50% of the proceeds will go to a Pizza Shack charity of choice and the other 50% of proceeds will go to the Foundation. This is an online/virtual event, raffle tickets are $1 for ticket or $5 for 6 tickets. Once you’ve completed the transaction, you’ll be contacted by Carrie Dreifurst (The Ridgecrest Foundation, Development Director), with your raffle ticket(s) number. The winner will be drawn on MLB’s opening day.
