History of RCV
Ridgecrest Retirement Village moved from a dream to drawing board to reality in a few short years. January 1964 was when we were first challenged to create a Christian-based retirement community. Rev. Dr. John Koning was the driving force. Rev. Koning resigned from a 20-year pastorate at Newcomb Presbyterian Church to become pastor and Administrator of Ridgecrest Village. There were a lot of people and businesses who combined to bring this vision to reality.
About Our Retirement Home Today
Today, Ridgecrest Village continues the mission and values that started this community. Our board is comprised of business professionals and clergy from the Quad Cities. Strategic planning committees will ensure its future growth. However, it is a not merely a building nor activities that make Ridgecrest Village a wonderful retirement community. It is our residents who are at the heart of everything we do; they are the reason that Ridgecrest will continue to be the best it can be.
