History of Ridgecrest Village
Ridgecrest Retirement Village moved from a dream to drawing board to reality in a few short years. In January 1964 area ministers were challenged to recognize the need for a church operated retirement village when a Quad City group was organized to begin such a project. The guiding force for this project was Reverend Dr. John Koning who resigned from a 20-year pastorate position at Newcomb Presbyterian Church to become Pastor and Administrator of Ridgecrest Village. There are an untold number of individuals and area businesses who combined their talents and resources to bring this vision to reality.
